Giro mare-monti
Mtb excursion with downhill start, along the village of Nicotera. arrived at elevation 0 you go up from Gagliardo hill towards Limbadi, panorama below.
You go through the town and climb towards the area called Falconiera. From here you will have a wonderful panorama taking in Nicotera, the plain of Gioia Tauro and the Aeolian Islands, photo below.
Continue downhill along the Sant'Andrea dh segment, a very steep and dirty descent in which to be careful. Once the descent is over, you go back up to Cardinusa locality and head towards Motta, riding uphill on a road with very steep sections where you are sure to encounter dogs. You pass Motta Filocastro and continue climbing, until you reach Monte Poro, above an altitude of 600m. From here you descend on dirt/asphalt to Mandaradoni. You travel along a stretch of plain and resume climbing, toward Monte Poro by the road called "pumareja." Up to Monteporo you descend again slightly and climb back up to Caroniti, continuing in the direction of the pine forest. Crossing the pine forest, one descends the mule track that leads to Joppolo. The descent is very steep, with the possibility of crossing vehicles going up, so be careful. Arriving in Joppolo mare, you go up again towards the Poro, pedaling a long climb of about 10 km, very gentle, full of curves, where you can enjoy a fantastic view, immersed in the green of nature. Arriving in Caroniti, only the last descent remains, leading to nicotera via Preitoni.
