Motta Filocastro

One-hour mtb ride in the countryside between Nicotera and Limbadi. Departure from Nicotera, on an inter-modal road, among olive and fruit trees. You ride along the road through the locality Puglisa, from km 1 to km 3.5. It is a country road with a piece of dirt road. You reach Mandaradoni, a hamlet of the municipality of Limbadi, and continue on asphalt for about 4 km, passing the village of Motta Filocastro, another hamlet of Limbadi. In the middle of the only hairpin bend you encounter, turn right and a small country road (with dogs) begins, at the end of which you will find the Church of the Holy Cross. Before you get to the church, turn right and follow a dirt stretch about a kilometer long (watch out for ruts!). You go up toward the village of Motta Filocastro, and stop for two minutes at the "Tocco," in the central square. At this point you head back toward Nicotera, taking a short ride through the Preitoni countryside, amid vineyards and olive trees.
