Description
For the "bike and history" series, mtb excursion to Old Briatico, a town destroyed by an earthquake in 1783.The route consists of stretches of asphalt (mostly inter-pasture roads) mixed with dirt. From Nicotera one ascends toward Monte Poro and then descends toward the coast. Arriving in Briatico, one ascends again toward Monte Poro from another side, passing through Papaglionti, a ghost town abandoned after a flood.
