Montalto

For the series "beautiful rides," and for mountain lovers, trail for road bikes, starting from Nicotera. The destination is the second highest point in Calabria, Montalto (1956 mslm), a point where it is possible to arrive carrying the bike on the shoulder, and where in the absence of mist it is possible to see the two seas (Ionian and Tyrrhenian). Before arriving at this point you pass through Gambarie (RC), where you can enjoy excellent sandwiches with local products. We are in the Aspromonte Park. The return trip involves passing through Bagnara Calabra, crossing Sant'Elia and descending to the Gioia Tauro plain. I recommend a stop at the Sant'Elia lookout, where you will have a chance to enjoy the view of Sicily.
