DESCRIPTION:

You immediately gain the embankment of the Tesa creek, the site of a beautiful bicycle path, on which you reach the shore of Lake S. Croce. You pass by the Sarathei Campground then climb up and cross (wpt B) the S.P. on the outskirts of Farra. The climb starts gently then, after Buscole, steepens...nothing compared to what awaits us : the climb to Case Tomàs is known as the toughest in the Alpago (among the paved ones); it has been interrupted for years due to the collapse of the bridge at the beginning of the steep section but now it has been repaired and we pass on good dirt road. The ramps begin, at 20...25%: with the e-bike, in turbo, there are no problems. Before Case Tomàs the climb becomes less hard and we proceed in perfect solitude to the village of Spert (C 920). Brief stop at the nearby bar/restaurant "Dal Cogo" then continue on a moderate climb to the village of Sant'Anna where, among the various cottages, you cannot miss a stop to admire the "House of Books" (wpt D1 q. 1080). Just beyond, the road becomes dirt and proceeds with alternating ups and downs until above Pianon. At point F 1060 you leave via Federa to take a dirt forest road of some effort that climbs to the slopes of Monte Guslon (H1 1360). From here begins a pleasant up and down that in the flat section, before the steep descent, we found covered with a lovely layer of dry leaves. From H2 begins a long descent that after Casera Pian di Tac becomes paved but not to be underestimated in wet or mossy conditions because of the considerable gradient. In wpt I1 you come to via Cate and by this in a short time you reach the malga of the same name. You can have lunch at the malga/farm but also take advantage of the nearby fountain and a large picnic area with tables and benches. The place is in the sun for the entire day and the view of the Alpago, unparalleled. Using a few pleasant off-road detours, descend to Chies and turn right in L 880 to reach Irrighe, then continue to Funes. In M 800 you descend by unseen dirt path that follows the course of the Funesia stream; challenging in some sections because of the uneven ground. After crossing the hamlet of Molini, with easy ups and downs you reach CHIES; descend steeply to Codenzano with aerial views of the lake and continue downhill until you reach SP5 in P1 495. Short ascent to Schiucaz and more ascent to Garna.

We take the narrow road past the Dolada Delta Club landing field (paragliders and hang gliders launch from Dolada ref. at q. 1500 and land here) then continue to TORCH.

From the village we take an unusual trail (missing from the Open maps but not from Tabacco 012) that allows us to descend to Puos. Crossing the center, we go to the embankment of T. Tesa on which, in a short time, we find the parking lot prsso the Sports Center.

How to get to the starting point

A27 highway exit x Lake S. Croce - Fadalto. After the saddle keep right lake to Farra and just after the bridge turn right for Puos. After 1 km you will find on the right the sports center with nearby bar/restaurant and large area for free parking.Decimal coordinates: N 46.1345 E 12.359
