Here is Day 2.

From Porto Viro, we head toward the Po Delta, first avoiding traffic, then giving way to the tranquility of the delta and its valleys. We’ll end up on the right bank of the Adige River, which flows into the sea just a few kilometers away; we’ll follow it toward the Romea, where, once again, we’ll cross a bridge that we’ll immediately leave behind to head toward Chioggia on quiet backroads.

From Chioggia, we’ll take the ferry to the island of Pellestrina. Book your trip online; otherwise, you’ll have to wait if there are a lot of bikes. There’s a single ticket for the three ferries we’ll take: Chioggia–Pellestrina, Pellestrina–Lido di Venezia, and Lido di Venezia–Punta Sabbioni. On the islands, we’ll cycle to the next ferry landing. From Punta Sabbioni to Jesolo Lido, you’ll ride entirely on bike paths, one of which is particularly beautiful, jutting out over the lagoon.
