Rifugio Jerwis da Bobbio Pellice - sentiero dell'Indritto

A hike on May 27 on a sweltering day from Bobbio Pellice to the Jerwis mountain hut, with a few variations on the descent route compared to the standard mule track. The hike begins with 7 km of paved road covering a 500-meter elevation gain, mostly through forested terrain. From the Villanova parking lot, the route continues along a wide dirt road with a very steep section. After about 1 km, you cross a bridge over the Pissai stream waterfall, then fords the Crosenna stream, and reaches the Pis Waterfall halfway through the route. The 8-km dirt road, with another 500 meters of elevation gain, leads to Conca del Pra and the refuge.

Below the refuge, on September 30, 2023, parts of the ashes of the late Ettore Dovio were scattered; the website Ettoruccio.it has been and remains a reference point for many mountain lovers, featuring over 750 ski-mountaineering trips and more.

The descent starts behind the refuge on the Indritto trail (level OC). After the first section, two more very challenging stretches follow.
