Fanano, doppio anello
A double loop starting from Fanano, featuring some new descents (at least for us). We leave the village and climb up to Canevare via narrow roads and paved paths, then continue by keeping to the left toward the beautiful Poli farmhouse. Here, a trail begins that takes us to Pian del Falco and then continues on to Passo Serre. First descent (Mummia): the initial section is technical, with tight switchbacks, steep drops, a few counter-slopes, and some exposure; then it becomes more flowy and quickly takes us to Seccheto and then to Serra di Gallina. We climb back up on paved roads to Cimoncino and then follow a forest road until we reach Berceto. Another beautiful descent on a trail, decidedly technical, over rock, with trial-style sections featuring hairpin turns and steps, as well as more flowing sections.
Once in Canevare, the second loop begins: an asphalt climb toward Fellicarolo, then left and after a stretch of asphalt to Ca Broni, a tough climb on a forest road until it meets trail 425, which descends from Colombino. Here, however, turn left to follow the new Trail 427 (recently maintained by local bikers—great work!): a mountain bike trail running parallel to the old CAI trail, very fun, alternating between technical sections and smoother, more controlled stretches through the woods. A beautiful alternative to trail 425, which it rejoins in the final stretch so you can enjoy the last few technical switchbacks on rock and loose stone. You arrive at Madonna del Ponte and return to Fanano via a trail along the stream.
