Sant'Angelo Bike Park
Starting from downtown Caserta, you reach the village of Vaccheria (San Leucio), and from there, by following the access road to Canalone (Monte Tifata), you reach the slope overlooking the Basilica of Sant'Angelo in Formis. On this side of the mountain, a group of enthusiasts has created and maintains a network of trails. There are four main trails: Traliccio, Bambolina, Giostrina, and Principino.
Each trail has a "super" version, which extends the descent thanks to a higher starting point. All routes are well-marked with wooden arrows indicating the path to follow for each trail. The trails should be ridden with caution, as they feature fast-flowing sections but also some more technical passages. However, they are very enjoyable routes suitable for everyone, provided you stay alert and keep your eyes open.
They are becoming a go-to spot for many local biking groups, who regularly meet up on Saturdays and Sundays to ride together. A wonderful example of a mountain biking community. On the way back, the route takes you back to Caserta via the second half of the Canalone (a historic trail in the area), which is always fun and very varied.
