Urbania-Sodello-Valcelle-Brutali
A challenging route in terms of distance and downhill sections, but beautiful and spectacular with breathtaking views. Starting from the main square in Urbania, head towards the artisan area and then towards San Giorgio. Head towards Orsaiola and, before the church, turn left and take a cart track that climbs for about 4 km with gradients ranging from 5 to 18%. At the top, turn left and take the road to the summit of Monte Montiego.
At Capanna delle Guardie, turn left and climb up through a barrier. The road climbs again with a gentler gradient, zigzagging through the pine forests of Monte Montiego. Once you reach the Montiego hut, the road crosses the summit meadows of the mountain with Monte Nerone on your side. Once you reach the slope that descends towards the houses of Montiego, cross it and descend the summit meadows towards Balza della Penna. Keeping to the right, first take a flat path and after a few hundred meters turn left onto the path called Valcelle, which descends to Piobbico. This path is surrounded by vegetation and has some challenging hairpin bends, offering spectacular views of Mount Nerone and the Candigliano Valley. The path ends near the sports field.
Cross the village of Piobbico towards Urbania and immediately after the bridge over the Candigliano, climb up a road parallel to the provincial road. Then climb up the slope, first through a residential area and then along a path that leads to the dirt road that climbs up Monte Montiego. After about 5 km of climbing, you will reach the Capanna delle Guardie and take the road you took earlier towards Urbania on the left. After 2 km on the dirt road, take the trail on the left that descends to Urbania.
