Corsa del Sole e Pozze Smeraldine
This route—I started from the parking lot in front of the “Locanda al Lago”—is well-marked throughout. It begins near the southernmost tip of Lake Redona (at the junction between the provincial road and the village of Cotel), known as the “Corsa del Sole”: winding through the entire Val Tramontina (Tramonti di Sotto, di Mezzo, di Sopra, with a detour to the splendid Pozze Smeraldine); allowing us to admire all the natural and man-made beauties (Borgo Titol, the ancient mills and churches...) found there. A route of medium length and difficulty, a mix of asphalt, fine and coarse gravel, trails, and meadows. In my opinion, it’s doable almost year-round, except during the winter due to river crossings, which may be icy.
Not for beginners, but if done carefully, it is feasible with a single-speed MTB.
