Passo Salmurano
Beautiful Orobic ride, recommended for those with good legs and familiarity with alpine trails. With some rewarding variants also by ebike, our choices are dictated by the use of the regular bike and the weather that gave possibility of thunderstorms.
Departure from Olmo al Brembo (it is also possible to start from Santa Brigida or at Colle della Maddalena to shorten it), direction Piani dell'Avaro (1150 meters of elevation gain on road). After a short break at RistOrobie, start again towards Salmurano with cemented ramps up to an altitude of 1850 meters. From here a section with bike on shoulder of 200 meters of elevation gain takes us to intercept the 101.

We make the long traverse to the Salmurano pass, initially cyclable and then with some pushing sections due to both exposure and non-cyclability.

When you reach the pass, descend in the direction of Ornica, initially following the path you usually take to climb to Rif. Benigni, then veering right toward Ornica. When you reach the Cesur huts, go up to the Maddalena pass and return to Olmo; we chose to descend the Disner side.
