Tour del Flumineddu

MTB excursion with departure from Sa Senepida, immediately challenging cold climb on loose stones to Campu Mudregu, where on pedalable dirt road we arrive entering the woods to a nice single that takes us to visit the scenic Nuraghe Mereu from where to take nice pictures of the Gorropu Gorge.

From here you descend on the ridge until you reach Sa giuntura, (be careful along the steep, landslidey descent..). Photo op and start with the portage along su schinale de s'Arraiga, a steep climb with a 300+ elevation gain, you start pedaling again until you reach Sedda ar Baccas where you can rest for a visit to the adjacent pinneto with nice table available. You enter Urzulei territory and resume riding on the driveway first on steep pavements, then past Codula sa Mela on wide dirt tracks until you find a junction on the right with a paved road with a sign indicating Televai - Fennau.

After having easily covered a few kilometers comfortably climbing in altitude you begin again with the difficulties, first of orientation, then with the impossibility of pedaling regularly either for the grassy fields strewn with loose stones, or for the gorse bushes scratching your legs, or for the poor maintenance of the mule tracks, or for a couple of landslides obstructing the path.

Having traveled a comfortable single downhill, one loses altitude until having to ford the Flumineddu at the bottom of the gorge. The greatest difficulty is to find one's way around, overcoming the boulders torn away by the winter floods and intercepting a vague uphill trail that then gradually becomes a mule track that is always difficult to pedal because of the overgrown vegetation that climbs in altitude to take you back to the comfortable dirt roads of the Orgosolo area.
