Pescasseroli, Rifugio Terraegna, Rifugio Prato Rosso
It starts from a parking lot just outside the town of Pescasseroli. The first part is all on asphalt, first on the SS83 Marsicana and then on the SP17 of the Abruzzo National Park, until you begin on the right the long climb on forestry that leads near Colle Coppo dell'Orso. After a few hundred meters of trail, you descend along a path on rock and sand and then again on firm ground, until you come to a new forestry road, which you take to the right toward the Terraegna Refuge. From there it is first uphill and then finally downhill to Rifugio Prato Rosso and then down to Pescasseroli on an easy dirt road.
The trail is easy, with only one long challenging climb. The trail was recorded with an eMTB, but there was another person on the MTB determining the total time. Water in the village and at Terraegna hut when open. Technical difficulty: only in the downhill section after the first climb.
