Cima Oro
This wonderful mountaineering cycle to the Oro peak in the Ledro Alps starts from Pieve di Ledro. We climb on asphalt to Lenzumo where we leave Sp 119 and bend right indications Pernici refuge that we reach after passing the malga and the Trat mouth after 11.5 km and 900 meters of elevation gain. We continue after the Pernici refuge on a single track to the Saval Mouth which starts out cyclable but soon there are far more pushing sections than riding. At the Saval we turn left then immediately right passing in front of the Mirella bivouac and the ruins of the old Austrian military hospital towards Bocca Droamé which we reach by fun descending false-flat trail. From Droamé straight ahead on fantastic panoramic path with splendid views of Arco and its surroundings.
We now overlook the ridge and have the first glimpse of Lake Ledro and patiently load the bike on our shoulders but for a short distance and without too much effort up to the memorial in memory of the Tyrolean soldiers. Now we pedal on beautiful trail that follows the ridge to the nearby summit. We are on the Cima Oro (Golden Peak). But in this case the summit is not the best vantage point, to reach it we have to drop 100 meters on spectacular ridge trail that runs with on the right flank a very marked trench on the left very steep pratoni, forbidden to fall. Reaching the sumptuous cross of the Cima Oro observatory, the landscape is truly majestic and the shoulder we have to climb to get back to the main summit is in my opinion really worth it.
Now we descend to Bocca Droamé with much fun always on easy ridge then down to Malga Droamé and Droamé barns. Here we leave the short stretch of forestry track we traveled and instead of descending we keep to the left in a short ascent then we take a path always on a gentle ascent that beyond Sella crosses a forestry track that we follow for a few meters uphill and then descend it to take the stupendous botanical path. We follow it cutting three times through the forestry and after the last cut we don't be fooled by the frenzy of the descent and without delay we make a very short but intense uphill climb and take a beautiful path that runs above the lake and then suddenly turns hard giving us a high fantastic segment for mtb.
The game is coming to an end; we are at Half Lake. Here we take the fabulous lakeside bike path to Pieve di Ledro from where we started. Trip in my opinion sublime where we really encounter many wonderful and at times delicate situations of true MTB.
