Carrarmati, Dado, Rita
The ride starts on the Fondovalle Savena, at the Molinazzo scout base. You proceed north on the state highway, skirting the Savena River for a couple of miles until you meetVia Orioli. Turn right and climb on quiet asphalt until you reach the locality Scascoli. At Fonte dell'Albone, turn left and continue uphill in the direction of Santo Stefano Church.
You then continue until you cross Via Panoramica. We turn right and then immediately left. We still pedal on asphalt for a couple of kilometers until we reach a small dirt road on the left. Past the riding stables the road curves first to the left and then to the right. at this last curve it is necessary to take an obvious but unmarked little path on the right, which passes alongside some World War II trenches, continues skirting a small villa and then re-emerges a few meters below the "Lupus Lujanes, " now an emblematic work of land art. A photo or even two is mandatory.
You then continue downhill, reaching the locality Casoni, where you turn left and arrive on asphalt until you cross the SS 65 in the locality Mulino della Luna. you cross the state road and continue downhill for a few more hundred meters until you glimpse on the left the entrance of a path that allows you to reach the cai that leads to the "Carrarmati". Here it is possible to see beautiful rock formations and, special feature, the track marks of the tanks that passed through here during World War II.
The trail later arrives at the locality Trebbo where you regain the asphalt road that climbs back to the SS 65. You follow it southward until you return to Mulino della Luna. Here you go up again to the Casoni, but immediately take a small road on the left that passes through a field and arrives at the Casalino. From here you climb back to the Panoramic Way and proceed north. You then pedal until you reach the wide meadow of Passo del Dado. Reaching the top of the clearing, the single track "Dado" ( intermediate difficulty) begins, descending with beautiful views of the Savena Valley and the Apennines. Going through some suggestive passages on rock, you reach the locality Anconella.
From here you return to Sabbioni on a paved but not excessively busy road. Continue again on the SS65 towards Loiano, until you reach the locità S . Antonio, about one kilometer after Sabbioni. Past a group of more or less recently built cottages, called Villaggio Rita, the asphalt again gives way to the dirt road and the single track called precisely"Rita" ( intermediate difficulty). These immediately transits into a beautiful lunar landscape, where there are some very characteristic rock formations. A stop to enjoy the place and the view is mandatory.
After descending some slightly technical sections, we then continue on a fast ridge dirt road, which we leave to enter on a path in a beautiful forest of holm oaks and chestnut trees. One last ford on the Rio della Selva and we soon arrive at the Fondovalle Savena. We ride a few hundred meters north and arrive back at the starting point of the tour.
