Valmanera - Asti
Today ride in the Asti area, Valmanera woods with Bubetta and Marzio. After a short digression on asphalt at the Church of Viatosto (of Romanesque origin and Gothic remodeling), we start with very well trail (some interesting passages such as a nice steep bend to the right) , pian vigna, crotin (they were used in the 1800s for livestock shelter and agricultural tools storage, wine cellar for wine production, storage and ripening of fruits and vegetables), the gina (some small artificial jumps) and finally gino 80. The overall difficulty is MC+/MC+ with a terrain of Asti sands that had sedimented in the Pliocene age in shallow water, the fact is that the wet bottom gives confidence even on the most sustained slopes. Extensive trail maintenance is evident in the near absence of fallen branches and little foliage, while several edible mushrooms are present.
