MTB 5 Forra Etrusca
This route will take you to discover the ruins of an ancient mill and the picturesque waterfalls of the Rio di Gea. Short tour, but still challenging, suitable for those who already have experience, given the difficulty of the rocky sections and to the long ascent at a fair gradient.
Leave Montese by Via dello Sport (swimming pool) and at the traffic lights take SP 27 until after the Cerro bar to then turn left onto Via Creda and enter a wide cavedania that descends to the edge of the field and then enters the woods: we are at the beginning of the Rio di Gea valley, whose waters can be heard from above with their waterfalls on this path that narrows and becomes...rock garden!
Still in the woods and after a challenging descent you can reach with a small detour a bridge over the Rio at the ruins of an old mill. Then retracing your steps you resume the path slightly uphill to reach near the reconstructed Etruscan-Celtic settlement at Lake Bracciano.
After the detour you resume climbing on the slopes of Montello to finally reach in dicesa the Via Braina that returns to Montese.
One of many mountain bike trails in collaboration between 841 RIDE Wild and the Municipality of Montese, which with varying levels of difficulty, elevation gain and length, according to IMBA's ITRS signage, take you to discover an area perfect for your dowels.
