ETNA SUD 4: Trail Valanche - Scalazza

Starting uphill on asphalt from Zafferana Etnea (about 13km), you arrive at the Belvedere di Monte Pomiciaro and here with a breathtaking view of the Bove valley you descend along the ridge in a flowing manner on sandy terrain with some technical passages and nice sloping sections until you arrive back at the start

There are two trails with S1 difficulty scale.

VALANCHE: km 1.33, dsl -272 mt, average gradient -20.4% the trail starts at the Belvedere and runs along the ridge at the edge of the forest, it is flow with some somewhat technical passages, sandy terrain. Little-used and unmaintained trail and increases its why. After a short transfer on asphalt you enter left on a trazzera and shortly after always to the left you bypass a gate in an easy way laterally you continue to reach the trail Scalazza.

SCALAZZA: km 0.91, dsl -332 mt, average gradient - 36.2%, trail quite tough because of the gradient and some technical sections, the first part passes on a DH track but due to abandonment and landslides it deviates to the right on a petraia with also tight curves and gradient at times important.
