Valle Po – M. Bracco (o Croce di Envie) – antiorario
Start in Barge, asphalt false-floor to Mondarello and then long climb to Convento della Trappa after about 6.5km and 550 meters elevation gain; there is a fountain on the trail, some votive chapels, perched below the cliff the village of Balme.
At the Convent of the Trappa http://archeocarta.org/barge-cn-certosa-del-monbracco-o-mombracco/ ritual photos with Marina before starting the dirt road that in 3 km gradually and finally swirlingly gains another total of 400 meters of elevation gain. Near Monte Bracco is located an ancient quartzite quarry already mentioned by Leonardo da Vinci. Muggy and hazy day, we will arrive at the car exactly for the beginning of the storm!
Descent: 99% dirt and trail, 1% asphalt, were they all like this! First scree section similar to ascent and then on level ridge trail (sign) very flowing with some roots and firm bottom to Trappa. Continue on dirt road to Piano San Michele and then V1C trail, with bc sections and a few dozen trialistic meters, descending on Barge passing the ruins of the Castle and the little Church of San Giacomo.
Outing with Marina, aka bubetta, whom I haven't seen since the Crosa Forts, hardly ever together come out of bin laps.
