Torre dè Busi - Valcava - Discesa Funivia
Moderately challenging AM ride, with S2 descent on trail/muletrack. Departure from the cemetery of San Gottardo near Torre dé Busi (LC), all asphalt climb along the classic and famous ascent to Passo di Valcava, a climb that in the last stretches has some rather challenging climbs with peaks up to 18% gradient.
Once at the top, after the ritual photos and a coffee at the kiosk, you put on your protective gear and set off for the descent, a descent that begins precisely at the Funivia resort and that winds mostly on a path/muletrack that is sometimes bumpy and with tight hairpin bends, sometimes faster, but never anything impossible.
Be careful about halfway down because near some concrete steps you come out onto the road that leads to the "Costa Coldara" farmhouse. After a fast counter-slope traverse we start again with the rather rocky stretches to get to Col de Fopa locality, from here we turn sharp right to follow another stretch of mule track that alternates hairpin bends with faster stretches, then before getting to a hairpin bend on which we first climbed we take a left to do a slightly downhill traverse and then finally turn right to do the last fast rocky stretch that takes us to Torre dè Busi next to the church.
Here we can decide whether to continue with the trail and do a final mule track that leads down near the cemetery where we started or finish the ride on asphalt.
