Giro dei Longerin in Comelico

Departure from Sega Digon at 1100 meters. First stretch of asphalt climb in an enchanted valley. At a certain point turn right towards Malga Melin. Still on secondary asphalt you reach the malga at an altitude of 1680. Excellent refreshment point. But we do not stop and continue now on dirt road and path. Little-visited and magnificent places.

We pass over 2035 meters, a point from which we can see the Val Visdende and Mount Peralba. Behind us the Quaternà and the Austrian peaks. We continue toward the val Visdende penetrating the magnificent fir forests and meadows of this magnificent place. Up to an altitude of 1300 meters. Worth a stop is the church of Madonna delle nevi where Pope John Paul ii celebrated a mass.

We now ascend westward climbing the Zovo Fork at 1600 meters and then embrace the Longerins. Some landslides made life difficult for me (August 2023) but nothing impossible. Just pay close attention! Halfway down the traverse we enter the descent and close the loop at the parking lot.
