POINTE DE CERCES tour day 2

After yesterday's wonderful day on Thabor today we will ascend the Claree valley and then go on to conquer the summit of Ponte de Cerces of 3097mt.

Start from the Buffere refuge with excellent ST up the valley for excellent muscle awakening.

It climbs now in asphalt and then dirt until the Drayeres refuge and then alternating push and very pedal sections lapping various lakes until the Col de Cerces.

Normals can pull straight from here recovering at least 3 hours ....mentre for those who want something exclusive begins the approach to Pointe de Cerces. First half-steep section with various obstacles and some exposed sections until below the final steep scree that with some challenging passages in the middle will lead us to conquer this wonderful peak.

From the summit ATOMIQUE panorama over the Val Claree the Thabor the Galibier is the dominant 4000 of the Barre des Ecrins.

A fantastic descent now awaits us with views on perfect though steep TOP trail . In one section the steep becomes super but you manage to stay in the saddle until the complicated disarramp section. Then back in the saddle until the trail halfway down that will be cyclable high difficulty only in places. We thus return to the pass with a radiata top in our pockets. Ke spettakolooo

We descend the beautiful trail to Lake Cerces and then continue with leg pedaling almost all the way to the col del la Ponsonniere.

We now descend on another jewel trail to a gorge .

Now tears and fatigue until the col du Chardonnet south and another beautiful gorge and trail until the Chardonnet hut. From here a stretch on really challenging and bad forestry to the hut until some huts where we take a new fantastic and fun trail that takes us to the bottom of the valley in Nevache. Energy recovery and last ascent to col de Thures with a very fast section along the stream on a dirt road. The trail now climbs in hairpin bends on good ground and faced in the morning with leg you can pedal it almost entirely.....hours 1830 after 10 hours of biking better to push ... gained the plateau below the Aguille Rouge already conquered in the past you pedal well until the col . From here to the Re Magi refuge the ST and TOPPERIA and adds more icing to the already well candied cake.

Arrival just before dark and closing a memorable 2 days for anbients, trails , peaks conquered and company.
