Malga Melin, Sella Vallona, Rifugio Porzehutte, Forcella Dignas, Val Visdende
Itinerary straddling Italy and Austria. Departure from the village of Santo Stefano di Cadore from which, with a comfortable asphalt bike path along the river, you climb up to the village of Segadigon from which you take a road, always asphalt with no traffic, in a gradually narrower gorge until the junction for Malga Melin, which you reach always on asphalt at 1600 meters. Past the malga a dirt road begins and up to the border of Sella Vallona at 2400 meters always wide but with some very very hard cemented roads in the last part. Descent in Austria on meadows and trail difficult but never dangerous no exposed sections. Easy to follow with trail markers and final part to Porzehutte hut easier. From the hut small detour down to a small lake below and then ascent and comfortable return to Italy easy and scenic. At the border there are still barracks from the war. Descent into Val Visdende or for those who want to at the first fork on the left easy tour of 6 malghe and then descent into the valley following the road back to Santo Stefano di Cadore.
Route not technically difficult except for the descent from the Austrian border for 4/5 km. Physically demanding, takes good leg, or good battery.
