Quarin, Srnjak, Sabotino, Calvario da Cormons
Today's ride departing from the Cormons train station, which is equipped with ample space where you can also leave your car, if any.
Leaving the pretty town, we start immediately with the climb to Mount Quarin and its clayey descents, then ride through the atmospheric Plessiva forest before entering Slovenia and heading for Dobrovo Castle. Here the bottoms become much more compact.
Having then crossed Gonjace as well, we give the climb to Srnjak Mountain and then throw ourselves into the Soča valley to take the related bike path that will take us back to Italy: here the views of the Soča River are truly striking.
Abandoning the bike path, we climb Mount Sabotino to the remains of the church of San Valentino, then throw ourselves downhill on a very challenging single track. The next effort will be the ups and downs of Costabona and Oslavia, Mt. Calvario and Mt. Galuz, before the last non-demanding section that will lead us back to the starting point.
