La Brugiana

With uncertain weather the Brugiana lends itself well to a ride that can be varied on the course. On the ascent to the summit there are several forks of the various trails created specifically for Mountain biking.

Leaving the car in a parking lot near the cemetery in Massa we climb up the Bergiola trail long but with an always gentle and regular slope. Arriving almost to below the summit, since the weather seems to be holding, we get tempted and instead of going immediately to the summit we take the Giorgi Giorgi trail and we have it to a section of Jungla and the final part of the Chatel.Finishing the trail we again gain the Bergiola route just below the beginning of the dirt section following the same climb we made earlier.

Arriving again at the entrance of the trail to the summit of Brugiana, we decide to postpone again the ascent to the Cross to continue the road that leads to the east summit passing through the Cooperativa Monta Brugiana. On the road there are several gates to open and close and arrived at the end of it we have to put the bike on the shoulder to reach the summit.

The vegetation is so thick that we cannot find the path that connects the two peaks so we decide to turn back and undertake the ascent to the summit (Croce) from the path mentioned before. Even in this section it is necessary to carry the bike on the shoulder not for long but very steep.

At the Cross we stop just long enough to get dressed to embark on a long and challenging descent that joins Trail Top of the World (Cai 152) and Sperma. The combination is really satisfyingly challenging and very varied, with the mark I would have dropped both the initial descent and the exploration to the East summit. Wanting to come back in the future I would combine the descent of the Monument and the Cinderella, or a part of it if one did not want to lose too much elevation gain, which I remember much more fun and natural than those done initially today.

I recommend doing this route in the fall both because of the heat and the very dense vegetation of the post-spring and summer period, to fully enjoy the initial descent part from the summit where some of the bad passages remain hidden from view.
