Alpe Tre Potenze

Amazing all mountain tour with even challenging backpacking bike sections. Departure from Fontanone just above Ponte a Gaio in the Orrido di Botri nature reserve, where it is possible to park and get water. We follow the Valfegana provincial road (Via Ducale) to Foce a Giovo(mt.1674). From the pass we leave the road and take the Cai 519 corresponding with stage 15 of the Italia trail that I proudly contributed together with the Mountain Bike Group of my Cai section to plan the itinerary precisely for mountain bikes.

We follow the trail, alternating between pedaled and pushed sections without necessarily putting the bike on our shoulders, to Lake Piatto passing through Hannibal Pass. Arriving at Passo della Vecchia we load our bikes on our shoulders to face the stretch that leads us to the summit of Alpe tre Potenze (1935 meters). From the summit we ride the entire ridge that passes Femmina Morta and takes us back to Foce a Giovo. The path is cyclable almost all the way except for a short section immediately after the descent from Tre Potenze where it is necessary to put the bike on the shoulder again.

Once at the mouth we continue the descent on Cai 16 which passes by the Gigi Casentini Refuge at Mercatello and continues until we gain the Via Ducale previously made uphill near the Cai 38 trail which we take and follow until we reach Refugiani (beware this section is currently closed due to a landslide). We abandon the trail to follow the uphill road that leads to Foce a Fobi. From Foce we try the path resurfaced by locals that leads to Gallita.

After finishing the descent we must again reach Refugiani to finish the tour by taking Cai 38 again downhill until we reach Fontanone where we parked our cars.
