Monte Serra, Alpha, Variante Nonni bis, 00 Rockline, Wasteland
From Santa Maria del Giudice through a beautiful dirt road always shady in the summer months and with excellent grip after the rain we come out on the forest path that goes up from the restaurant la Cecca after facing about 500 meters of medium technical singletrack uphill. We continue the ascent in the direction of Campo di Croce, a crossroads of many trails, we turn onto the Bisantola trail until we find the entrance to CAI 135 also referred to as the Alpha line, a wonderful trail for its variety, especially when tackled in its entirety from Mount Casceto.
We ascend again toward Campo di Croce, pass through the mouth of Calci and the Cacciatore trail and face the hard climb of Verruchino that leads to the top of Mount Faeta but which we do not reach by passing under it with a firebreak to go on the last downhill stretch that descends from the summit, variant Nonni bis. Once on the forest road we follow it in the direction of Passo di Dante, where near a hairpin bend we abandon it to enter the 00 Rockline, a path that although not too challenging has some really interesting passages, too bad that in the second part it is dug out forcing us to lift our feet off the pedals. Next, after a very short stretch of shoulder biking we transit along the ridge that leads to Dante Pass.
