Description

I propose this itinerary, starting from Loreto, to get up to the Conero at the Badia San Pietro church. A beautiful tourist route, with striking views, even on the flat section that runs along the coastline taking you to the foot of the Conero and the climbs.

From Loreto, it starts easy, all downhill until you reach Porto Recanati. From here, a long, all asphalt ride begins that skirts the sea.

A little further on having reached Scossicci, we also meet a nice bike path that takes us to Mercelli, Numana and Sirolo, right at the foot of the Conero. Here the climb begins, get ready because it starts with a bang. Immediately the first ramp around 9-10%. On this route, the trail climbs all on paved road until you reach the top. After passing Sirolo, continue climbing, then turn right and take the road to Monte Conero.

Road with little traffic, but really hard to climb never breaks from 9-10% and peaks even at 13-15%, great for climbers and who have good legs. Arriving at the top, the scenery satisfies you from your exertions.

Admiring the scenery, I decided to go down a path that starts behind the Conero bar, next to the public baths. Uneven path, in wooded area, shrouded by vegetation. I would say challenging because of the stony bottom but not impractical, with only a few passages in which to put some attention. You come out on a dirt road, which, if you wish, takes you to the small village of Sirolo. I turned left, seeing an inviting single track, with a slow bottom, that takes you almost down to the beaches, (for those who want to go all the way to the sea, keep in mind that then you have to go back up), this goes back up to bring you back on a paved road to the village of Sirolo. Here you can't miss the scenic ride and the customary photos in the charming little square with a sea view.

The return to Loreto is tackled by taking the reverse route, turning right just before Scossicci, skirting the river on a lovely dirt bike path, surrounded by fields and farmhouses, to reach the foothills of Loreto and tackling the climbs (also challenging) that take you into the quiet town.
