Da Tolmino al Planina Sleme

Tour inspired by a MTB race of 2021. The start is from one of the central parking lots in Tolmino, a Slovenian town about an hour's drive from Gorizia.

The first section, about 4 km, is fairly flat, then comes the first climb with gradients to 10-15% on trail, then a short descent that will take us, at km 11, to the first long and hard climb behind Vrsno. We now skirt Mount Strincelo with a falsopiano section where it is best to catch our breath before a further climb that will take us up to 1000 m asl.

More falsopiano then a long climb with not excessive gradients that will, however, have a surge at the fork to get to Planina Sleme, from which we will also enjoy a magnificent panorama. From here a steep descent awaits us to the road that runs alongside the Tolminka stream, a road that will take us in a couple of kilometers to the village of Tolmino where we will find our car.
