Rifugio del Mali Gori e Kucelj da Crnice
We start from a side road in Crnice, a small village about 20 minutes from the Italian border. We start immediately with the climb, which will vary in pace and intensity but will continually give us fantastic views of the valley below.
After 4 km we make a small detour to admire the lonely rock: turning our gaze to the mountain, it makes one shudder to think when this huge boulder fell to the valley...
We resume the climb and after a couple of km we find ourselves on a track with gradients of up to 30%, loose stony bottom covered with pine needles: a real nightmare to do it all on the pedals, even worse to have to get off and push!!! After a total of about 8 km there is finally the first drop and after a small lake we arrive at the Mala Gora refuge, a terrace from which to enjoy an incredible view.
Further fatigue the short stretch that separates us from the plateau and then, thanks to some very enjoyable trails, will take us to the slopes of Kucelj (1237 meters): here the route is interrupted because the ascent by MTB for me normal human is impossible, however, leaving the bike there and climbing the view is priceless.
The return is the same route in reverse.
