Rupis, Breg, monte Galuz, ex-fornace Lucinico
Departure from the parking lot of the PalaBigot in Gorizia.
After a small paved section, it begins with an impassable climb among the vineyards, with barren, clay soil. Then the trail seems to soften with a dirt road with moderate elevation changes but, having taken the detour, it immediately begins to climb with a clay bottom that is always wet and slippery. After several ups and downs of this tenor, you re-emerge from the forest into a suburban area where you take, for a rapid descent, a secondary asphalt road.
Shortly after the border crossing that will take us to the top of the hill at Vidisce, below the Breg. From here we will face a series of climbs and descents, some of them steep, between various Slovenian villages, always skirting lush vineyards and even fording a few streams. The return to Italy will take place between Cormons and Capriva del Friuli, and will bring us to face the last differences in height: Mount Galuz and the hill above the former furnace of Lucinico.
