Premilcuore: Cucco e Tiravento
We start from Premilcuore (FC) where, near the restaurant la Rocchetta, we climb the SP 25, almost totally closed to vehicular traffic, until we reach the ridge. At the top, turn left onto the driveway that follows the ridge called the cammino di Sant'Antonio (St. Anthony's path) and marked No. 17.
When you reach the Bivio di Poggio Cavallaro, keep right and after a while you reach a shelter in the woods from which the Cucco descent begins. It is a fairly flowing descent that alternates between coasting and narrow hairpin bends, but there is no shortage of technical sections. The descent ends on the provincial road coming from Premilcuore. Gi turns right onto the asphalt and continues on the provincial road until it meets the fork that leads to Fiumicello. After crossing the Rabbi stream, the asphalt climb gradually begins. Keep on the road until you meet a fork on the left near a trail board.
You then take the driveway uphill on the left that leads to Pian di Rocchi, and at the top you meet the viewpoint called Finestrone. Continue on the driveway until you meet trail No. 313 of the Tiravento on a curve to the right, which you keep until you reach Premilcuore. The Tiravento is one of the most famous and scenic trails in the area. After an initial section in the woods with boulders roots and short sorties on open ridge you come to a very scenic all ridge section with exposed, stepped and technical sections and short relaunches. After this beautiful section you re-enter the woods and the trail becomes more flowing and fast again.
The last part of 313, the one you take at a junction with a dry right turn, is the most difficult. You immediately face a passage with a high step with a hand bike and continue part on a ridge and part in the woods on a hollowed-out surface full of rocks and roots with significant gradients and tight turns until you arrive on a paved road above Premilcuore, which you reach with a short descent.
