Ponale, Ledro, Trat, Pernici, Gamella, 434 parziale
Splendid loop tour reconciling the Mediterranean environment of upper Garda with the alpine environment of Val Concei. It passes by two beautiful refuges, the Nino Pernici and the Malga Grassi. It is convenient to park the car in via Ardaro, in Riva del Garda.
You start with the classic Ponale to reach Molina di Ledro. You skirt Lake Ledro from the southern side; from Pieve you go up to Val Concei. At Lenzumo you go up to Bocca di Trat and the Pernici refuge. On the descent I tried to take as many trails as possible.
The first downhill trail is quite challenging. Mandatory stop at Malga Grassi. The first part of 434, from the lovely hamlet of Campo, is beautiful, although there are a couple of short sections to hike. From the bridge over the stream to avoid the second equipped, non-bicycleable part, it is necessary to climb briefly by catching up with the Pinza road. You descend for a stretch to the beginning of the Foci trail. At the end of this in a short time you return to the starting point.
