Montese - Castel d'Aiano - Labante - Montese

Depart Montese in the direction of old artisanal area, then CAI trail on broken cart track, then detour inside the ditch with a pleasant descent on wooded terrain, ditch crossing then steep ascent on field, ditch crossing again and ascent on asphalt road. Transfer on asphalt road to Castel d'Aiano and climb up Val d'Aneva to viewpoint.

First descent on cart track, then on singletrack with continuous ups and downs (attention all on counter slope so rather exposed). Passing by the "Lastra di Finocchia" scenic spot and restarting on singletrack with tight and challenging curves (watch out for a point with a steep slope but no further difficulties). Continue on the trail to the state road and between curves and counter-slopes, before entering the road. On the right beautiful cave to be seen. Go up on asphalt road passing through Labante (known for the caves of the same name) and return through Castel d'Aiano and Montese.
