MONTE OSERO FREERIDE
Itinerary in the middle Nure Valley to discover Mount Osero (1301 m). Departure is from Bettola where we start the ascent first on asphalt with zero traffic then on a dirt road to the village of Ronchi. Here follow to the left the track that, with some very steep sections, leads to Pellaccini without passing through the dirt road of the ghost village of Chiappa usually always muddy.
Upon reaching the Cappelletta Pass, the most beautiful part of the tour begins. On a scenic dirt road, with the last very challenging ramps, we reach the summit meadows of Mount Cogno and then the summit of Mount Osero. The very first part of the descent coincides with the going then turning left takes us to the Val Nure side. The trail is shared with the bikes and alternates between sections on dirt and sections on stone.
Once above the village of Montosero follow the track until you take the beautiful descent recently named: Freeride Ozzy. Beautiful, flowing descent; follow the track all the way down. Be careful only in the last part where you have to climb over a gully on foot as the little bridge is missing; it is a two-meter walk. Also watch out for a pipe in the last part that crosses the trail and the passage in the very last part near the water tank. If you have more you can climb back up and do the DH descent.

Hi. I followed your trail today. Nice ride, the descent is very fun (the Ozzy) and I liked the uphill cut too.
We went back up and also did Lux aeterna (whoever mentioned them must listen to some metal \m/ ) but it is badly marked and dirty the first half. Nice afterwards, but not worth it. Do you happen to know who traced them?
Hi stumpy78,
glad you followed the trail and found it OK.
The Ozzy trail has been around for + 10 years and we have been doing it at least a couple of times a year.
Before, if I am not mistaken it was called DH Noli or something similar.
Who, on the other hand, has set it up lately I just don't know.
Hi , I also followed your downhill trail , the Ozzy , it is beautiful although not very busy from what I see.
In some places I had a little trouble following it because it mixes a bit with nearby trails .
Nice the final section in the pine forest with the narrow switchbacks . I did not know it and will do it again, thank you
Hi Pozzoligio,
the Ozzy descent was very popular about 10 years ago; as soon as it was traced it was a must and many people did it after work at night.
Then for quite a while it was completely abandoned and there it was really difficult to locate the trail; especially because of frequent forest cuts.
Now, thanks to the recent rehabilitation, it is perfectly passable again.
Glad you enjoyed it!!!
