Monti Osero e Barbieri

Challenging and very nice tour, done clockwise, very nice view from the top and fantastic final descent. Start from Biana on asphalt to Bettola where you start climbing following the signs to the ghost town, all in the woods with some sections a bit steep then flatter to Montosero.

You pass Chiappa Bosco, a ruined and uninhabited village, and arrive at Pellacini. Asphalt to Cappelletta pass where the climb to Mt. Osero begins on dirt road marked as CAI trail, steep finish. You reach Mt. Cogno, in a few minutes climb Mt. Osero, nice view from both.

Now long downhill trail through woods to Cerro pass. Panoramic road to Pia pass and steep, but short, climb to Mt. Barbieri from flat top in woods. Now beautiful final descent following FRANA signs, first long trail in woods then beautiful gully ridge, short ascent and last trail in woods.

Water at Pellacini fountain, walk past it.
