Da Borgosesia alla Valle del Pascone (Cilimo) a Vanzone

Starting from the cemetery in Borgosesia, ascending toward the hamlet of Pianezza, take trail 740 to the right of the small church, a nice (short) downhill flow that leads to Caneto. Here, skirting the ferroriva, one arrives in Quarona, where passing through the center one arrives at the foot of the San Giovanni al Monte Oratory mule track.

A steep but well-maintained mule track in stones and light steps with partial slopes of 30 percent takes us in front of the oratory with panormic views of Quarona and Valsesia. Continuing on the mule track intersects with a farm strara that ends on the provincial road SP02 of Quarona-Cavaglie. When you get to Cavaglia, take the Monte Briasco sign to Alpe Piaggia, where after a short refreshment you take a left downhill towards Civiasco. After just 50 meters you have to take the road on the right where there is a bar marked private property with a sign, however, for 634 Civiasco. After about 500 meters on the curve to the left before another barrier gate downhill pay attention to the sign indicating 634 Civiasco.

Here begins a beautiful single track where pay attention to the downhill end over the Rio Pascone bridge (we are below Civiasco), steep section to be done partly by hand but it is only a few meters. Before the bridge turn left, follow 634 to Cilimo, intercept a small aqueduct bridge to cross and then continue to the Oratory of Frassineto to then reach Cilimo, Roccapietra with return to Quarona (industrial area) and ascent to the Church of S.Maria di Vanzone and the remains of the Castle with panoramic view of Borgosesia and surroundings. Return via the Valsesia bicycle path (Borgosesia-Varallo) to the cemetery place of departure.
