Santa Franca

The most spectacular part of the ride is the beautiful descent from Mount La Penna to Fontanavento from the beautiful view of the valleys. It starts from Biana uphill to Cavarezza then Massara. You ride some beautiful trails in the woods of Mt. Obolo and arrive at Prato Barbieri. Very steep section on ruined dirt road to Santa Franca but all pedaled, beautiful church and grove above. Now the long descent begins, ruined dirt roads in the woods to Mt. La Penna, great view from the cross.

Stony descent to Costa with views of Restano Valley then spectacular ridge descent to Fontanavento, challenging and rocky but not steep descents. Now, unfortunately, asphalt to the start. I recommend water at the fountain in Montelana before the steep section, you pass it.
