Gran Canaria - Montana de tauro

Gran canaria, departure from Puerto Rico west of Maspalomas.

In the first part you ride along the seafront road to the traffic circle after the playa de la cura, from there a dirt road climbs to the center of the island; tough climb with some easier sections, in the final part you have to carry the bike on your back for about 200 meters (strong headwind makes this climb tiring). From here the descent begins, the very scenic PR-GC-45 trail crosses the canyon, no technical passages but one must be careful of sharp stones.

At the end of this descent you again meet a dirt road that descends to the coast, with a few small side paths to the road, finally you reach the cross of the small mountain above Balito, 200 difficult meters of pure freeride overlooking the sea (can be avoided by descending from the dirt road).

You close the tour with a return to the waterfront.
