Motta - S. Nicola - Limbadi

Itinerary for mtb with departure from Nicotera. Start uphill on asphalt along SP29 to the cemetery, turn right in front of the cemetery and take a small country road, with dirt sections. You proceed on this small road, slightly downhill first and uphill later. At the end, you turn right and start climbing, with double-digit gradients, until you intersect SP29 again. Proceed for a few kilometers along SP29, and shortly after the drop-off point turn right, and take a dirt path. Continue until you come across a pine forest. From here on it will be all downhill, on a dirt road, you will pass through olive trees, eventually entering a gully that leads to the town of Motta Filocastro. At this point you will climb in the direction of Rombiolo on the SP, until you find a country road on the right.

You will travel this in the direction of the antennas. Going along this road, you will make a small detour to the left. Back on the main road, you will descend to the left, taking a dirt path that will lead to San Nicola. Now, you will go toward Limbadi along a small country road, along continuous ups and downs, some of them very steep. Once in Limbadi, you will continue toward Nicotera.

This is quite a fun ride, with descents that are not very challenging but not suitable for beginners. You will encounter very steep climbs, even dirt roads.
