Comparni MTB

Route for mtb with asphalt start, from Santa Barbara locality, between Nicotera and Nicotera Marina. The first km will be entirely on asphalt, and you will first cross the SP and then the SS18. From the SS18 you will take a small road on the right. From here the dirt road will begin, with a few stretches of dirt or asphalt road. You will pass several times under bridges that allow you to cross from one side of the highway to the other. There will be many unpaved sections running alongside it, and you will encounter some acacia groves. The first 15 km will be almost entirely flat, very fast, with many pools of water in winter. To cross some of these it will be necessary to go around them by getting off the bike. Beyond 15 km there will be many uphill sections, some even steep and unpaved. Before starting to climb back to the SS18, you will ride along a ridge from which you will see the valley where the highway passes and the mountains of the greenhouses.

You will continue always on a dirt road starting to climb toward the villages of the hamlets of Mileto, arriving at Paravati. From here you return from the SS18 to speed up the tour.

Numerous farms are encountered, so we will often be in the company of cute little dogs! The ride is a lot of fun, with fairly fast, unpaved descents where you can have fun. The flat part is very fast, with a lot of dirt, where in winter there is a lot of mud, but we also cross fields like the one in the picture.
