Veliki Rob Osek
Alpin-cycling route with ascent on asphalt, dirt road and a long section with shoulder and push bike, long traverse on partly very scenic trail from the partially bikeable summit and descent on forest trail.
Start from Osek, cemetery park, and ascend along asphalt road, passing through Vitovlje and then on dirt road with increasing gradient until intersection of trails at a cliff with climbing wall. You climb to the left following the Trnovo signs, pushing and shouldering your way up a trail with fairly steep sections, followed by the next junction where you turn right from a very pleasant up-and-down section in the forest facing north. You regain a dirt road that climbs again until you reach a dimly visible sign on the right where you take the trail that climbs steeply to the ridge, with fairly steep sections that are not rideable.
Magnificent views from the ridge of Mt. Veliki Rob on the south slope overhanging the valley. You reach the summit with the metal cross from which you continue to enjoy a splendid view toward the sea, then descend to the coast a few inches from the overhang and enter the forest with a bottom made un-bikeable due to the many bulky protruding rocks. You alternate between riding and pushing sections for a rather long up and down that becomes a flowing path in the last part, until the trail junction traveled on the way out. Turn left and descend over undergrowth to a narrow cart track that becomes steeper and bumpier.
