Monte Craguenza - Monte Joanaz
Route with two ascents and two descents on trail, first ascent on dirt road and trail to Mt. Cragruenza, short descent on trail and ascent on dirt road to Mt. Joanaz, descent on CAI753 trail to Montefosca, descent on CAI735 rocky trail to Stupizza and closing on asphalt.
Start from Ponte S.Quirino and climb up an initial stretch of asphalt to Vernasso Alto and then on wild dirt road that becomes steeper after the emolo, take the Valchiarò dirt road to Puller. Continue uphill and pedal hard on the very scenic grassland path that leads to the summit of Mount Cragruenza. You descend northward along a short, fun trail to climb back onto dirt and a short stretch of asphalt, then take an up and down trail that leads to the road that circles Mount Joanaz from the north and, with uneven sections, climbs to the grassy summit.
Follow the high dirt road north and take the path that leads back to a junction traveled on the outward journey; descend on the dirt road and then take CAI 753, which is challenging and has steep sections, and leads between rocks, gravel and woods to Montefosca. Leave the built-up area and proceed eastward taking a path on grassland CAI 735 that from gentle becomes increasingly hardened, with a bottom on stable and at times rough rock, split and with steep sections, always immersed in the woods until Stupizza. Return on asphalt where possible secondary.
