Canalone + Sentiero San Nicola_2

Route for mtb with departure from Nicotera. Start from puglisa, a flat location in the Nicotera countryside. Warm up on the flat for about 2 km, after which you meet a very steep climb, ending with a very very steep dirt section (bordering on rideable), which leads onto SP29. Proceed for a few km on the provincial road, and at the only fork you come to, turn right onto a dirt road. Continue until you reach the pine grove, the point where the descent of the gully begins. Here the trail changes constantly. It is a dirt path, with very short stretches of concrete, and many gullies dug by rain. Once the gully is finished, you arrive in Motta Filocastro. You continue on SP30 to the first hairpin bend, where you will need to continue straight ahead. You will follow the road until just before you get to the little church, turn left onto dirt path that leads to San Nicola. From here it is back on provincial road to Nicotera. More back roads could be taken, but with very steep climbs.

This is an undemanding tour in terms of elevation gain and km, however, you will encounter very steep climbs, and technical downhill sections, not suitable for inexperienced people.
