4 trail in Cesane
Long tour that concatenates 3 little known trails and an absolute unheard of one in the Cesane bike park. As usual, the Urbinati start is at the Cora.
Follow the single tracks parallel to the provincial road to reach Cesana Alta di Fossombrone and ride the first section of Wave, until the first intersection on the sbrecciata.
Left to the 143 junction, right to the misunderstood Lake Trail single track and with this to San Lazzaro. Watch out for the last stretch, easy but very exposed.
By the paved road climb up to Campo d'Asino. Climb over the gate to gain the entrance to trail 142, 5 nose press switchbacks, the rest easy, early July fortunately still plenty of water at Acquasanta spring.
Back to St. Lazarus and this time in portage on the first hard meters and then up the Broken Bridge and Black Death. By the usual transfer trails to the Cabin.
Now left down a little-known, but well-cleaned single track to the mid-slope blazes that must be indulged, careful not to descend too far, to above San Cristoforo dei Valli.
Here an entirely new trail leading to Mulinaccio has been opened, and marked with the usual white/red CAI marks (to be fair, we don't know by whom). The trail's entrance is not very obvious, aim for a waterhole at the foot of green tree and in any case watch out for the gps track because even on the half-steeped scree it is easy to make a mistake and find yourself forced to climb back up on difficult-to-ride ground.
From Mulinaccio we climb back up the Brombolona and God willing we brought the tour home.
Have a good time. Paul.
