Mount Paganuccio from S. Anna
Park near St. Anna's Spring.
The ascent to Paganuccio is first by asphalt road, then paved and finally natural surface with very hard slopes. Less strenuous alternatives are possible to get to Pianaccia, where you begin to turn along the east and then north slopes. In this section the route is the classic circuit around Paganuccio, all on natural bottom, with mild ups and downs.
Past two uphill switchbacks, at an elevation of 720m and now near Ca' Fabbri, you cross the CAI sign indicating the start of the trail. The trail leads, with flowing stretches interspersed with a few good-natured steeps, to cross the road traveled uphill. It is necessary to descend for a few dozen meters to a sharp hairpin bend where the last section of trail begins, somewhat hidden and with a few hollowed-out steps.
This last single track section is not technically difficult, but rather tricky because of counter slopes and exposure. In short, caution. With one last steep step climb, you return to the road, now almost in the valley.
Have a good time.
Paul.
