Crocione del Monte Bar MTB

The Crocione del Monte Bar is a nice, relatively fast mountain bike ride above Tesserete, Capriasca.

Parking at the sports field, now unfortunately also a toll road.

It climbs all on asphalt to an altitude of 1500, first on a road open to traffic, then on a small road that when it comes out of the woods becomes very scenic with a nice view of Lake Lugano. There are several fountains along the ascent, and also an agritourism that makes excellent food, Alpe Rompiago.

When you reach the Crocione, enjoy the view. Beware that if the wind blows from the north, this place is to be avoided because you will fly off your bike.

From here to practically Tesserete is 8km of trail. First a long stony cut.

Then into the woods with different difficulties, but never too challenging.

Be careful of pedestrians on weekends.
