Description

Start of the ride in the direction of Vorno for 300m,then turn left in the direction of Parole d'oro. We cross uphill the beautiful area of the monumental aqueduct of Nottolini .In 2 points, very short, you are forced to descend because of the difficult bottom. Arriving almost at the top of Gallonzora, we continue to the left along a path downhill and then uphill until we cross a dirt road that we will follow to the right steeply uphill for 100m. From this point we follow to the left a scenic path on a false level and to follow a stretch of quite technical downhill single track until we reach a downhill dirt road that takes us to the village of San Giusto. We take the paved road slightly uphill for 600m towards the village of Sant'Andrea di Compito.

Before starting the hairpin bends that lead to the village we turn right onto a dirt road that in about 3 km takes us to Prato a Sigliori. From here we will climb along the dirt road in the direction of the 600 trail, which we will always follow uphill. At the end of the path we will find ourselves on the dirt road from Vorno up to Santallago. We travel it still uphill to the Santallago restaurant where we also find a fountain. We then move in an easterly direction to the Bisantola fire pond. We then take the dirt road on the right that mostly downhill takes us to Campo di Croce From this point the steepest climb awaits us. In fact, we head towards the summit of Mount Faeta (about 2km). This is the most panoramic point of the Monti Pisani. On a clear day we can see Pisa, Livorno, Gorgona, Capraia, Lake Massaciuccoli, the Gulf of La Spezia and the Apuan Alps with the Panie group in evidence.

At this point the descent begins. We cross the net in a northerly direction and follow the trail to the Monte del Carrara locality. For a stretch of about 200m the stony ground and the slope make the trail quite difficult and technical. When we reach the crossroads we continue in a northeast direction along a downhill dirt road for about 2 km (we omit some forks and continue straight ahead) until we find a wire fence. We follow the path on the left. This is a downhill path and short uphill sections and a ford to an abandoned house. We continue further, leaving the ruins of the house on the right along the downhill dirt road. Still ignoring some forks, we continue straight until we come to a small chapel in the pine forest. We turn left and follow the path marked with white-red signs to the church of Coselli. From here then on asphalt (about 2.5km) to the start.
