Canolo Nuovo

A mtb route about 30 km long of low difficulty that develops on the Aspromonte plateau, between the localities of le Stallette and Zomaro, among beech and pine forests. The itinerary includes the departure from Canolo Nuovo, in the direction of Rocca S. Mauro, from which it is possible to enjoy the panorama that sweeps from the village of Antonimina to the gorges of the S. Paolo Fiumara, with the Ionian Sea and the coast as a backdrop. You continue toward the Tyrrhenian Sea, until you pass the Crocco pond.You continue pedaling toward Zomaro and cross a path through a dense pine forest that leads to contrada Varca. At this point you continue to the Mortilla pond, the last stop before the return trip.

Along the way you will encounter various historical artifacts from Roman times, so for history lovers, this is a tour that will include several stops.

You will stay between 800 and 1,000 meters above sea level, and you will ride on asphalt for 10 km, the rest is dirt. It is a route designed for a mtb gathering, very scenic.
